From where do you leave?

Use your location


Do you drive with a navigation system and is Nooitgedacht not indicated? If so, follow the signs for the town of Marwijksoord.

On arrival at the resort, we ask you to first park your car in the designated car park, in the boxes. From the car park, you can walk to Havezate, our central main building, to check in. At the reception, you will receive the key card of your accommodation and more information about our resort, such as current opening hours, prices of rental items, telephone numbers and the activity programme.

To do proper justice to the authentic character of the Saxon farms, our resort is car-free. That is why we ask you, after checking in and unloading the luggage at your accommodation, to park your car in one of the central car parks P1, P2, P3, P4 or P5.

Electric cars
An EV charging station is available in the car park. Two cars can recharge here. There are also two Tesla Connectors at Car Park P2 (see resort map for the location).

Public transport
Take the train to Assen station. From Assen station you can use our pick-up service.
Call + 31- (0) 592 24 59 50, let us know what time you will arrive at Assen station and we will make sure that someone is ready to take you to Hof van Saksen.

Arrival and departure

On the day of arrival, you may check in at the reception from 12.00 AM. Your accommodation is available from 4.00 PM. On the day of departure, you must leave your accommodation by 10.30 AM at the latest.

Tip: For a quick and proper handling when checking in, we ask you to complete the digital night registration form on your pc, tablet or mobile phone. It is also possible to fill in the hard-copy form and submit the form to our staff when checking in.

On the arrival day and day of departure, you can use all facilities for the entire day. Before checking in and while checking out at the reception, you can receive a key card which gives you access to our facilities for the entire day. 
Tip: You can turn in the key card at the reception while checking out on the departure day. If you prefer to immediately depart from the farmhouse, then send an e-mail to so that we can check you out. You can then leave the key cards in your farmhouse.

Flexible arrival days

Opening hours reception 
The reception is open every day from 8.00 AM to 9.00 PM. 
The current opening hours of all facilities vary, and you can find them in the welcome pack which you receive on arrival.
Note: A 24-hour security is available for the case of arrival after closing time.

Supermarket opening hours*
The supermarket is open on arrival days on Friday until 8.00 PM and on Monday until 7.00 PM.

Payment options at the resort
Cash (denominations to € 200), bank card or giro card, VISA, Mastercard and American Express.

Free Wi-Fi in all accommodations and main buildings.

To rent
Bicycles, mountain bikes, children's bicycles and seats, family bicycles, bicycle helmets, go-karts, children's wagons, canoes, rowing boats, beach chairs, lounge beds and parasols.


Maximum of two pets permitted per accommodation. There are also pet-free accommodations available. All 24-person accommodations are pet-free. Surcharge for each pet: € 5.50 per night. Pets are welcome in the hallways of Havezate and in the Grand Café.

Charging stations for electric cars

A Tesla Destination Charger and a charging station are available at the park to charge your electric car.


Do you require care? During your stay at Hof van Saksen, Zorggroep Drenthe can offer you care based on personal care and nursing. In addition, you can approach Vegro hulpzorgwinkel for hiring equipment.

Child-friendly accommodations

All farmhouses at the resort have child-safe electric sockets and a stair gate. All sockets in the farmhouses are internally safeguarded upon production. The stair gate in the farmhouses has been designed for children until three years and satisfies the European standard EN 1930.

Lost something during your stay? 

Did you lose something? Send an e-mail to the Security department at Hof van Saksen via Clearly mention your name and telephone number, what exactly you have lost, the booking number of your stay and the farmhouse number.


The prices shown in the price calendar are a combination of brochure prices and promotional prices, and include bed linens, made-up beds, a towels package per person, a package of kitchen towel, coffee and tea, end-of-stay cleaning and energy costs.

When you stay two consecutive weeks at the resort, you receive a 50% discount on the total rental price of the lowest priced week. When you stay three consecutive weeks, you receive an 80% discount on the total rental price of the lowest priced week. This long stay discount, if applicable, is automatically included in the final price calculation.

Guest Service

Despite the care and efforts of Hof van Saksen, you may be of the opinion that you have a legitimate complaint regarding your stay. This complaint must be first reported on site and directly to the management of the resort so that the opportunity may be given to solve the complaint on site.

If the complaint is not resolved satisfactorily, despite the efforts of the resort management, then you have the opportunity to submit the complaint in writing no later than 1 month after departure from the resort to:

Mention here your booking number, name and address information, date of stay, resort name and accommodation number.

The complaint will be handled with the greatest care. Should this also not lead to a satisfying solution, you have the opportunity to have the complaint handled by the Recreation Arbitration Committee in The Hague or present the complaint to the competent court, until a maximum of 3 months after departure from the resort. The decision of this committee is binding.
