Parking and checking in
Follow the signs P and park your car in the designated parking spaces. From there walk to the central main building, De Havezate. The reception is located on the right. Our receptionists will give you a warm welcome and tell you everything about the resort. At check-in you will receive the key card to your accommodations.
If you are a disabled person and have an official declaration of disability, please report to the reception desk for a parking waiver. You can then use the designated disabled parking spaces.

Limited car traffic
To maintain the authentic character of the Saxon-style farmhouses, the resort allows very limited traffic. Unload your car at your accommodation and then park in the central parking lots P1, P2, P3 or P4. Fewer cars are also better for the environment and for playing children. Enjoy your stay.
Electric charging sockets
In the car park P1 and 'daggasten' there is an electric charging socket.* Here, two cars can be recharged. *Use of these charging sockets is only possible with a key available at the reception desk and a deposit of €50. Charging is subject to availability.

Public transportation
Are you arriving by public transportation? From Station Assen, take bus 24 to Stadskanaal and get out at the stop Veldweg in Nooitgedacht. From the bus stop, walk 50 metres back and then take a left on the Veldweg. From there, it is another 5 minutes straight ahead to Hof van Saksen.

From Assen take bus 21 towards Emmen. Get out at the stop "Marwijksoord" in Nooitgedacht. From the stop, cross the road and walk down the Veldweg. Walk straight ahead for another 10 minutes to reach the resort.

If you have a trailer, please park it at one of the general car parks P1, P2, P3 and P4.

Speed limit
The resort is subject to road traffic regulations. The resort as a whole is regarded as a residential area. You are therefore expected to drive very slowly (10 kilometres per hour).

Arrival and departure

On the day of arrival you can check in at the reception from 12 pm. Your accommodation will be ready for you at 4 pm. For a fast and correct check-in, we kindly request you to complete the details of your travel group in the "My Hof van Saksen" account. You can do this on your mobile phone, tablet or PC.

If you are departing please leave your accommodation by no later than 10.30 am.

Opening hours Reception 
The reception is open every day from 8.00 AM to 09.00 PM. 
The current opening hours of all facilities may differ and can therefore be found in the Hof van Saksen App.
Note: A 24-hour security is available for the case of arrival after closing time.

Supermarket opening hours*
Noordermarkt is open from Monday to Sundays from 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM.*
* Opening times are subject to changes on public holidays.

Free Wi-Fi in all accommodations and main buildings.

To rent
Bicycles, mountain bikes, children's bicycles and seats, family bicycles, bicycle helmets, go-karts, children's wagons, canoes, rowing boats, beach chairs, lounge beds and parasols.
Payment options at the resort
Cash (denominations to € 200), bank card or giro card, VISA, Mastercard and American Express. Debit card payment preferred.

Maximum of two pets permitted per accommodation. There are also pet-free accommodations available. All 24-person accommodations are pet-free. Surcharge for each pet: € 5.75 per night. Pets are welcome in the hallways of Havezate and in the Grand Café. Guests of Hof van Saksen can use the professional dog sitting service offered by Dierenpension Nieuwe Dieren. Do you require care? During your stay at Hof van Saksen, Zorggroep Drenthe can offer you care based on personal care and nursing. In addition, you can approach Vegro hulpzorgwinkel for hiring equipment.

Child-friendly accommodations
All farmhouses at the resort have child-safe electric sockets and a stair gate. All sockets in the farmhouses are internally safeguarded upon production. The stair gate in the farmhouses has been designed for children until three years and satisfies the European standard EN 1930.

Guest Service

Despite the care and efforts of Hof van Saksen, you may be of the opinion that you have a legitimate complaint regarding your stay. This complaint must be first reported on site and directly to the management of the resort so that the opportunity may be given to solve the complaint on site.

If the complaint is not resolved satisfactorily, despite the efforts of the resort management, then you have the opportunity to submit the complaint in writing no later than 1 month after departure from the resort to:

The complaint will be handled with the greatest care. Should this also not lead to a satisfying solution, you have the opportunity to have the complaint handled by the Recreation Arbitration Committee in The Hague or present the complaint to the competent court, until a maximum of 3 months after departure from the resort. The decision of this committee is binding.
