I have lost my booking confirmation. What should I do?
You will receive your booking confirmation including invoice by e-mail within 3 days after making your reservation. If you have lost this confirmation, please contact the Contact Centre by telephone on 0900 - 1971 (usual call charges). We will then resend your booking confirmation to you by e-mail. You should keep this safe and bring it (digitally) with you to the resort.

Where can I find the inventory of the accommodation?
Our website does not provide an inventory of the accommodation. If you have any questions about the inventory of accommodation, please contact our Reception Desk by calling +31-(0)592 24 59 50.

Why do I register the details of my travel party?
Landal GreenParks (and therefore Hof van Saksen) is required by law to register the details of all guests who stay at the resort. To make checking in easier for you, we request that you complete the night registration form completely digitally. You can do this via your Hof van Saksen account.
Go to www.hofvansaksen.com/login and, if you have not yet created one, create an account. Click on 'manage my booking'. Then click on 'travel party', you can now fill in the form.

I have lost my night registration form. What should I do?
You can fill in your night registration form digitally. You do this via your Hof van Saksen account. Go to www.hofvansaksen.com/login and create an account. Click on 'manage my booking'. Then click on 'travel party', you can now fill in the form.

Which documents can I use to check in at the resort?
During your stay you may be asked for your booking confirmation and/or ID card.
Would you be so kind as to complete the night registration before your departure?
You can fill in and modify the night registration in your personal online environment. For combination reservations please contact Contact Centre or the reception of Hof van Saksen.

Can I also check in earlier or arrive earlier?
The key cards will be sent to your reservation address at the latest 3 days before arrival. Your accommodation is available from 16.00 hours. The 'children's' farmhouse (4CK, 6CK and 8CK) and Newborn (4CEN) are ready for you at 15.00 hours.

If you have not received these key passes, you can collect them from 12.00 at Reception. You will not receive your key passes in advance if you have an outstanding payment, a last minute booking or a change in your existing booking.

You are welcome to use the facilities already. From 12:00 you can pick up a day pass at the reception.

I can't make it to Reception before closing time. What should I do?
Reception is open daily until 9pm. There is 24-hour security service in case you arrive after hours.

Can I pay by credit card at the resort?
It is possible to pay at the resort with cash (denominations up to € 200.00), debit card, VISA and Mastercard. At Reception you can also pay by American Express.

Stay

I would like to receive visitors during my stay. Is this possible?
It is certainly possible to receive visitors in the accommodation during your stay. If your visitors will stay overnight in the accommodation, please inform Reception. Only tourist tax will be charged for visitors. It is only possible to let visitors stay overnight, when this does not exceed the maximum number of persons allowed in the accommodation.

Is it possible to extend my stay?
Subject to availability, you can extend your stay. You can do this during your stay at Reception or before your arrival by calling the Contact Centre at +31-(0)70 300 35 06 (normal call charges).

Will there be a security deposit on arrival?
The resort is entitled to request a security deposit of up to € 500. In most cases, you will be informed of this in advance by the resort. This is also stated in the General Terms and Conditions. If you wish to know in advance whether a security deposit will be required, we advise you to contact Reception.

Hof van Saksen is a unique family resort in the Drenthe countryside. In order to retain its peaceful and familiar character, the resort is not suitable for groups of people under 25 years of age and strict house rules apply. Prior to your stay a deposit may be required that does not exceed the total amount of € 500 per accommodation.

What are the arrival times and lengths of stay at Hof van Saksen?
The reception is open daily from 08.00 to 21.00. You can find the current opening hours in the Hof van Saksen App. There is 24-hour security on duty in case you arrive after closing time. 

On the day of arrival you can check in at Reception from 12.00 noon. Your accommodation will be at your disposal from 16.00 hours. If you leave on Monday or Friday, you should leave your accommodation by 10.30 at the latest. On the day of departure you can still use our facilities the entire day. The key card giving you access to the Pool and the Harrewar is activated until 13.00 hours if you leave on Monday or Friday.

A stay at Hof van Saksen has the following lengths:
Weekend stay: from Friday 16.00 hours to Monday 10.30 hours (3 nights).
Midweek stay: from Monday 16.00 hours to Friday 10.30 hours (4 nights).
Week stay: from Friday 16.00 till Friday 10.30 (7 nights) or from Monday 16.00 till Monday 10.30 (7 nights).
Combination of these stays is also possible on availability.

With how many people can I stay in my accommodation?
The description of the accommodation states how many people the accommodation is suitable for. This number corresponds to the number of beds available in the accommodation and is the maximum number of persons allowed. Due to safety regulations, it is not possible to accept more persons. It is therefore not possible to create extra beds in the accommodation. Children up to 2 years old sleep in a cot. Only one child in a cot is permitted per accommodation (with the exception of the larger accommodations, where several cots fit).

What is expected of me before I check out?
You do not have to check out at reception on the day of your departure. To help the environment, we recycle your farmhouse passes. You can simply leave the passes in your accommodation and inform us of your departure by email or WhatsApp. We ask you to leave your accommodation by 10:30 a.m. at the latest. You don't have to remove your bed linen from the beds. Please turn on the dishwasher and take out all the rubbish. Leave your windows open in the tilted position, turn off the lights and then close the door behind you.

Children

Are there also child-friendly accommodations?
All farms at the resort are equipped with childproof sockets and a stair gate upstairs. All power sockets in the farms were secured from the inside during construction. The stair gate in the farms is designed for children up to three years of age and meets the European standard EN 1930. In the Children's Farms (type CK) everything has been thought of for the children. Games, colours, toys. And of course they sleep in real bunk beds. For the smallest ones, there is a special Newborn farm (type 4CEN). Everything has been thought of so that you do not have to bring so much yourself. A cot, playpen, changing table, baby monitor and even a bouncer.

Can I book additional children's furniture?
A high chair is standard in the farmhouse. From the types with 8 persons there are 2, in the 18C there are 3 and in the 24C there are 4.
You can of course book (extra) children's furniture: 
- Extra child's bed incl. child's bed linen € 12,50
- Extra high chair € 5.95
- Playpen (excluding playpen cloth) € 5.95
- Changing mat €2.50
- Baby bath € 5,95

You can indicate online during the reservation process under 'extras' what extra children's furniture you would like to book. Of course you can also let us know by phone what you would like to book extra.

What exactly is meant by a children's bed?
A cot is a bed for the smallest of children. A cot is a camping bed. Children up to 3 years can sleep in a cot. The cot is 1.20 x 0.60 m. Children from the age of 3 sleep in a single bed. Please indicate when booking if you would like to use a cot, and we will provide the cot linen. The first cot is free, for the rest you pay € 12.50 per cot.

Please note: in the Newborn (4CEN) and 4-persons children's farm (4CK) cots are standard.

What is there to do for children at Hof van Saksen?
Children never get bored at Hof van Saksen: climbing in the climbing tower and trampoline jumping in the Bounz® Arena. Or come to one of the many Kinder Academies where they can learn how to prepare a delicious dish, make a beautiful bag, dig up bones and much more. There really is a lot to do. And the more than 1,000 m² play paradise Harrewar is a great adventure for children. Clamber on the climbing frames, play in the ball pit and slide down the slides. Can I separate my waste during my stay?
The less household waste, the better it is for nature. At Hof van Saksen you will find containers for glass, paper and household waste. We deliberately do not separate household waste. This is separated at the waste management plant, where valuable materials are retained and recycled instead of incinerated. By not separating waste ourselves, we get better results. The collection stations for glass, paper and household waste are spread around the resort. Look on the map for the one nearest you.

Night rest
The night hours at the entire resort are from 22.00 to 07.00. We kindly ask you to observe the night silence. Please also note that there are children who sleep well before 10PM.

Recreational lake
- The recreational lake is not supervised.
- Swimming and playing is at your own risk.
- Diving is not permitted.
- Fishing is only permitted on the side of the recreational lake with the red and white windsock.
- The maximum depth of the recreational lake is approximately 2.5 metres. The depth at the drift line is approximately 0.75 metres.
- Dogs are not allowed on the beach.
- On the beach it is not allowed to cycle or make a campfire.
- The use of the ferry is entirely at your own risk.

There is a malfunction in my accommodation
If there is a technical malfunction in your accommodation, please inform our reception staff. We will then correct the fault as soon as possible. If Reception is closed, you can (in very urgent cases) call the staff member on duty via our general telephone number +31-(0)592 24 59 50.

Complaints

I have a complaint about the resort. Where can I make my complaint?
Despite all care and effort, it may happen that you have a complaint about your stay at Resort Hof van Saksen. In the first instance, you should report this complaint to the on-site reception so that we can offer you the opportunity to resolve the complaint on site.

If, despite the resort's efforts, a complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you have the option, no later than 1 month after the departure of your stay, to submit the complaint in writing to:

or by e-mail to gastenservice@hofvansaksen.com, stating your reservation number, name and address, date of stay, park name and accommodation number. The complaint will then be handled with the utmost care.
 
Complaints submitted will be answered within a period of 14 days, starting from the date of receipt. If a complaint requires a foreseeably longer processing time, a reply will be sent within the 14-day period with an acknowledgement of receipt and an indication of when you can expect a more detailed response. If this also does not lead to a satisfactory solution, you have the option, no later than 3 months after departure from the holiday resort, to have the complaint dealt with by the Recreation Disputes Committee in The Hague or to bring the complaint before the court competent under the law. The decision of this committee has the force of a binding opinion.
